BOWDEN'S HIGHLIGHT

The Seminole Student Boosters Super Bowl Tailgate at Bowden’s in Collegetown was a huge success. With a record number of ticket sales, FSU students enjoyed a pregame with friends, drinks, prizes, and more. John Fletcher Butler of Seminole Student Boosters sat down with Lauren Weikel, a bartender at Bowden’s, to learn more about what makes Bowden’s special.

Weikel, a Jacksonville native who grew up bleeding garnet and gold, has worked at Bowden’s for a year and a half.

“I think the atmosphere is actually unbeatable,” said Weikel. “Bowden’s is half outdoor, half indoor, and we just got a brand-new sound and lighting system that really makes it a great venue for a student tailgate. It’s so easy to dance and sing, but also talk with your friends and meet new people.”

When Butler asked what a first-time visitor had to get at Bowden’s, she replied, “I would say the Bobby Burger. It’s a crowd favorite, and we have a house-made sauce that we put on it called the Touchdown Sauce that’s really good.”

Besides the heavy stress on gamedays, Butler wanted to know what the average person might not know about working behind the bar. Weikel replied, “Contrary to what many people think, we are genuinely having fun. All of our customers are a part of the Nole family.”

From the lively atmosphere to the staff behind the bar, Bowden’s continues to be a staple of the FSU student gameday experience. Events like the Seminole Student Boosters Super Bowl Tailgate showcase exactly why Bowden’s remains a go-to destination in Collegetown.

SUPER BOWL RECAP

The 2026 Super Bowl was one to remember as the Seattle Seahawks defeated the New England Patriots 29–13 on February 8 at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Seattle’s defense came up big all night, keeping New England off the scoreboard for the first three quarters and setting the pace early.

On offense, the Seahawks made the most of their opportunities, with Kenneth Walker III delivering a standout performance that earned him Super Bowl MVP honors. The win marked the second Super Bowl title in franchise history for Seattle and wrapped up the NFL season with a mix of big plays, high energy, and plenty of moments fans will be talking about long after the final whistle.

The halftime show featured Puerto Rican superstar Bad Bunny as the headlining performer. He brought a high-energy set that celebrated music and culture, performing several of his biggest hits. Between the epic performance and some hilarious 2026 Super Bowl commercials, it was a night to remember. We hope everyone enjoyed their Super Bowl Sunday!
