Legacy & Speed: Seminoles Shine in Dick Roberts Tribute Meet

Florida State Track & Field wrapped up a strong weekend at the Dick Roberts Seminole Invite this past weekend at the Mike Long Track. The meet honored former Seminole athlete and longtime coach Dick Roberts, whose impact helped shape FSU’s track tradition.

The Noles returned home after standout performances at the Florida Relays and Stanford Invite, and they carried that momentum into their home meet. Freshman Rylee Blade entered the weekend as the ACC Women’s Freshman of the Week after running the fourth‑fastest 5K in program history, while teammate Bieke Schipperen had recently posted the third‑fastest mark ever for FSU. On the men’s side, Andre Korbmacher continued building on his season‑opening win in the 110 hurdles, and Shamar Reid came in looking to extend his discus success after matching his personal best in Gainesville.

Competition opened on Friday with the hammer throw and continued through Saturday’s full slate of running and field events. With multiple student-athletes ranked among the best in the ACC and nationally, the Seminoles used the home meet to sharpen performances and build momentum as they head deeper into the outdoor season. Outstanding job, Noles!

The Comeback Starts Now: Noles Return Home with Purpose

Coming off a tough series against Georgia Tech, Florida State baseball is at a key moment in its season. While the results didn’t fall the Seminoles’ way, the weekend presents a valuable opportunity to reset, regroup, and refocus as they build momentum for the stretch ahead.

A midweek matchup against Stetson is the perfect chance to bounce back in front of a home crowd and prove the team is a threat, especially with the postseason approaching. This match is then followed by a home series against Notre Dame, where the Seminoles can show what they have to offer. They’ll have Dick Howser Stadium behind them this week, supporting the team through every inning and showing how Seminole fans show up in the most important of times.

Because in baseball, sometimes it’s not about the losses, but how you respond to them. And with everything upcoming, the Seminole’s response is just getting started.
